Our client was injured in an automobile collision near the intersection of Dunns Chapel Road and Taylor’s Creek Road in Hanover County, Virginia on December 9, 2006. At the time of the collision, our client was traveling as a front seat passenger in a 1993 Ford F-150 truck heading south on Taylor’s Creek Road, when the vehicle, operated by a friend of the client, veered off of the road and collided with a tree.
The Hanover County Police responded to the scene of the collision. The driver was initially charged with reckless driving.
As a result of the collision, our client sustained a dislodged C4-5 spinal injury, a partial collapsed lung, and abrasions to the face and knuckles as well as bruises to the hip. Our client was transported by ambulance to the Emergency Room at the Medical College of Virginia.
Before being discharged from MCV on December 18, 2006, our client had surgery to fuse the C4-5 disc. Our client later followed up with the University of Virginia and the University Of Virginia Department Of Orthopaedics.
We resolved the case for $100,000 which was all of the available insurance coverage. The medical bills were negotiated to ensure that the client made a significant recovery under the circumstances.
Awarded: $100,000
