Automobile Accident - Henrico County, Virginia

Our client was injured in a collision that occured on August 18, 2005 on Interstate I-95 South near exit 81 in the County of Henrico, Virginia. At the time of the collision, our client stopped in traffice in a 1993 Mack Tractor when a 2002 Mack Truck ran into the rear of our client's tractor.

Due to the injuries resulting from the collision, our client was taken by ambulance to the Medical College of Virginia (MCV) in Richmond, Virginia. Our client suffered a dislocated finger on the left hand, bruised knees (from hitting the steering column upon impact), swollen and bruised ribs, neck, left shoulder and brain, as well as a concussion. While at MCV Hospital, our client had x-rays and a CT Scan. After the hospital stay, our client treated with Progressive Therapy in Farmville, referred there by her physician, David Brown, M.D. Our client has also treated with West End Orthopaedics and Southside Surgical Associates for the left patellofemoral syndrome she incurred as a result of left patellar sub-dislocation she sustained in the accident.

Dr. Alain Desy with Southside Surgical Associates ultimately released our client on August 7, 2006. At that point, he determined that our client had reached maximum rehabilitation. Dr. Desy believed that any surgery would possibly jeopardize our client's current functioning level and even leave our client unable to drive a truck anymore. Dr. Desy has determined that our client has a permanent injury. He has opinioned that she has a 7% lower extremity impairment which translates to a 3% full body impairment.

Our client incurred a total of $10,359.48 in medical expenses as a result of this accident. Our client has also sustained a total of $6,900 in lost wages.
