Automobile Accident -- Northumberland County (second passenger)

Type of Accident: Virginia car accident
Location: Northumberland County
Verdict/Settlement: settlement
Type of Injury: concussion and brain swelling

This accident was the same one as the other Northumberland car collision. A car traveling on an ice road lost control and caused a head-on collision with another car. The daughter of our other client was also injured and we represented her as well.

She suffered a concussion and brain swelling, resulting on over $97,000 in medical bills. She stayed in the hospital for 6 days and Medicaid paid the bills.

Again, because of the driver who caused the crash did not have enough coverage, we were only able to make a modest recovery. However, we were able to negotiate the reduction of the medical lien, allowing our client to make a recovery. The court approved this settlement because the client was under the age of 18.

This is another example of when it helps to have you and your family protected from uninsured or underinsured coverage.
