Virginia Commercial Bus Accidents

T. Vaden Warren, Jr. is a Richmond personal injury attorney of The Warren Firm PLLC, specializing in cases such as commercial bus accidents.

Virginia commercial bus accidents often cause significant injuries and kill passengers.  Commercial bus companies and their drivers owe a duty to their passengers to make sure the driver is safe and is concerned with the health and safety of those passengers.

One of the common causes of commercial bus collisions is driver fatigue.  Many times the trip that the commercial bus company is hired for requires that their drivers drive through the night.  This can cause driver to have to drive tired and fatigues.

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations do not allow drivers of passenger-carrying commercial motor vehicles to drive more than 10 hours folling 8 consecutive hours off duty or for any period after having been on duty for 15 hours following 8 consecutive hours off duty.

Sometimes Virginia commercial bus accident cases will involve negligence on the company that hired the driver.  These issues can be for neglignent hiring or retention of the driver or for requiring the driver to dirve more than is allowed by federal regulations.
